ABOUT US

PROTEGO IN LATIN MEANS SHIELD, PROTECTION, IN THIS CASE LEGAL PROTECTION.
AFTER SIGNING THE CONTRACT YOU AND PROTEGO BECOME A COMMON ENTITY – WE, WHERE YOU KNOW WHY AND PROTEGO KNOWS HOW TO PROVIDE LEGAL SECURITY.

2005

Many years of experience in legal protection have confirmed in practice an old truth – law and justice are not identical. That is why WE do not see what does not need to be seen, do not hear what does not need to be heard, do not say what does not need to be said. We simply know what needs to be done, do it and advise on what needs to be done next.
Wisdom does not come naturally – back in 2005, a group of then simply ambitious young lawyers set up a law firm. As time passed and experience grew along their ambition, in 2012 the law firm Sviderskis Kaminskienė & Partners was established. The experience confirmed the truth of life – one who does everything does nothing well – so a clear strategy was chosen to work with the legal protection of the public sector, because the public sector has to do with all of us, the citizens of the Republic of Lithuania and its visitors alike. In 2017, following structural changes and a clearly defined mission, the name of the partnership was changed to Lawyers’ Professional Partnership APB PROTEGO.

2012

Today we can responsibly state that WE can work together competently, fairly, confidently and legally. We also cannot avoid mentioning, as you have probably already noticed, that PROTEGO is practically absent from the media. Why? Because we are busy working, not talking. The media is full of discussion of various high-profile legal cases by well-known lawyers, but if you spend some time looking into this, you will easily find out that our popular colleagues are publicizing and discussing public sector cases, especially public procurement cases, and that’s exactly the area of legal protection where WE are the experts, active participants and trend setters. So all of us are free to choose whether to talk or to work. PROTEGO chooses to work, so now it’s up to you to make your choice.

Mediation (amicable settlement)

Mediation (Latin: mediatio) is the legal protection and mediation of a dispute between two and sometimes more parties with the goal to legally protect US (you and PROTEGO together) and, of course, to resolve a legal dispute that has arisen or is about to arise at minimum cost by reaching an amicable agreement without litigation, since way too often the only party who benefits from long legal disputes are the lawyers themselves.

Claims handling procedure

When a public entity (municipality, municipal or state-owned enterprise or institution) receives a claim/complaint, in accordance with the essentially binding recommendations issued by the controlling and often intimidating authorities, the complaint/claim must be examined initially by persons other than those whose decisions are the subject of the claim/complaint.

Representation in court

If, for one reason or another, you decide that your legitimate interests need to be defended in court or you have been notified of a claim/complaint against you, it is simply necessary to contact lawyers with experience in the relevant field. This does not mean that you should go to PROTEGO, it’s just an objective and sound advice to protect yourself and avoid unnecessary losses.

Public Procurement

Whether you are buying services, works or goods, public procurement is a purely legal process with specific, technical procedures. It is also one of the most sensitive and administratively demanding areas of direct work in the public sector.

SERVICES
Prevention of corruption

On 29 June 2021, the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania adopted a new Law on Prevention of Corruption, which, as of 1 January 2022, replaced the corruption prevention regulation adopted almost 20 years ago.

Protection of personal data

Pursuant to Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data(hereinafter referred to as “GDPR”), adopted on 25 May 2018 in Lithuania, as well as in the other Member States of the European Union, data controllers and data processors whose main activity is data processing operations and/or it is necessary to monitor data subjects on a regular and systematic basis on a large scale (Article 37(1)(b) of the GDPR) and/or it is operationally essential (Article 29 of the GDPR), the appointment of a personal data protection officer is mandatory.

Criminal law

Representation and legal protection in criminal law matters are available only to private individuals as criminal liability arises only for those who have committed criminal offenses, but not you.
